Setting Up Your Metamask Wallet

In order to claim or purchase an IMMEMORIAL NFT (Non-Fungible Token), you will be required to first set up a Metamask wallet and purchase cryptocurrency. A Metamask wallet resides as an extension on your Chrome browser and allows you to store tokens and cryptocurrency such as Ethereum.

Part 1 : Downloading and Signing Up for Metamask

Step 1 -

Ensure that you have Chrome installed on your device https://www.google.com/chrome/

Download the MetaMask extension on your Chrome browser via https://metamask.io/

Step 2 -

Create your password. This password will allow you to access your cryptocurrency wallet easily from this device in future.

Step 3 -

Record and store your secret seed/recovery phrase, which comprises 9 word combinations that are unique to you. This seed phrase is the key to login to your Metamask wallet on other devices.

Do note that anyone who knows your seed phrase will have complete access to your wallet, which is why it is recommended that you store this phrase somewhere safe and indestructible.

Step 4 -

You may now access your wallet via the Metamask fox icon on the top right corner of your Chrome browser.

Part 2: Adding Funds to Your Metamask Wallet

Step 1 -

Select your desired currency under Settings > Currency Conversion. Head back to the home page.

Step 2 -

Click on [ + Buy ] button to purchase your desired cryptocurrency. IMMEMORIAL NFTs are transacted in Ethereum (ETH).

Step 3 -

Select the payment method and indicate the amount you wish to convert. Please note that the minimum amount to convert is $40 if you wish to purchase directly in Metamask (which is transacted through Transak).

Alternatively, you may consider purchasing from another currency exchange such as Gemini and transferring your Ethereum to your MetaMask wallet.

*Note there will be transaction fees incurred during the purchase.

Step 4 -

A pop-up will lead you to the payment page where you will be asked to enter and verify your personal details as part of the “KYC” process. Also known as Know Your Customer and sometimes Know Your Client, a KYC check is the mandatory process of identifying and verifying an individual’s identity when opening an account.

Step 5 -

Key in your credit/debit card details.

Step 6 -

The transaction should take a few minutes process, but longer processing times (up to a few hours) can be expected when there is high demand for transactions on the Ethereum blockchain.

Step 7 -

Once the transaction has completed successfully, you should see your Ethereum (ETH) reflected in your Metamask wallet.

You can access your wallet by clicking on the fox icon on the top right corner of your browser.

Step 8 -

You are now able to purchase NFTs on OpenSea as long as the Metamask wallet extension is active on your Chrome browser.
