Zulkhairi Zulkiflee

Artist-curator

Zulkhairi Zulkiflee (b. 1991) is a visual artist, educator and exhibition-maker based in Singapore. His practice explores the notion of Malayness in relation to knowledge production, the social agency and distinction/ taste.

​Zulkhairi has exhibited in group exhibitions such as Stories We Tell To Scare Ourselves With at MOCA, Taipei; The Direction I Rub One Matters at Grey Projects (2018); and Tell me how they kiss you, tell me how you kiss, Telok Ayer Arts Club (2018).

He has organised alternative group exhibitions like MAT (2019), an intimacy that allies us... (2019), Malais-A-Trois (2018), LUCKY show (2018), RAID (2018), RUANG (2017) and Dancing on the Spot (2016) — tapping on off-kilter locations like an air raid shelter, a vacant shophouse, and a metalworking building. He is also the recipient of the inaugural Objectifs Curator Open Call and a mentee under the Chow and Lin Mentorship List.

Zulkhairi is the founder of Sikap, a project group that engages with the creative value of 'let do' in the form of organizational experiments. The group is interested in the notion of mutual support, autonomy in idea, and artist-centered actions in artistic presentations.
