The IMPART Collectors Show 2018 presented a rare opportunity for the public to experience a curated selection of works by notable Singaporean and Indonesian modern artists from private collections, bringing together the market and the makers in a single exhibition during Singapore Art Week 2018.

The exhibition featured works by Affandi, Cheong Soo Pieng, I Made Djirna, I Nyoman Sukari, Popo Iskandar, Srihadi Soedarsono, Tang Da Wu, Widayat and Zhuang Sheng Tao. Though drawing from different cultural traditions and philosophies, these artists share a subjectivity rooted in the archipelago; their works united by a focus on peoples, landscapes, expressive inner worlds and spirituality. Together, they bridge the distinct cultural legacies of Singapore and Indonesia, revealing the deep affinities that run beneath their differences.

The Collectors Show also served as a significant platform for IMPART Curator Award winner Kamiliah Bahdar, who honed her curatorial skills under the mentorship of senior curator Kwok Kian Chow, an expert on Southeast Asian and Chinese contemporary art — translating the award's professional development mission into direct, hands-on practice.

As organiser of the IMPART Collectors Show, Art Outreach created a platform that not only gave public audiences access to significant works held in private collections, but advanced the organisation's broader mission to cultivate emerging talent, encourage art collecting, and foster a deeper appreciation of local and regional visual art communities. The show reflects Art Outreach's role as an arts intermediary committed to connecting artists, collectors and the public in meaningful ways.
