Till the Last Blossom is the ninth edition of Art Encounters, presented by Art Outreach Singapore in partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board at the outdoor atrium of Plaza Singapura from 17 September to 24 October 2022. The programme arrived with an original, site-specific paper installation and wall mural, alongside rarely seen drawings and sculptural objects by local artist Ashley Yeo.

In a world driven by technological advancement and instant gratification, Till the Last Blossom speaks to the restorative value of slowing down, offering a return to the serenity and sublime power of nature. Yeo's practice revolves around themes of lightness and slowness, built on reflections on hedonistic culture and an attention to the soft and fragile. The exhibition spans meditative pigment-on-paper drawings and pastel paintings that bloom across the walls, intricate paper sculptures and installations of varying scale — including a cascading paper installation among her largest and most elaborate to date — and a filigree paper cube and screen installation. A series of rarely exhibited hand-drawn works, created with a mechanical precision that belies their handmade nature, further reveal the importance of natural elements and floral symmetry to her practice.

On the opening weekend, Yeo live-drew a pastel mural inside the container, and continued to be present on Saturday afternoons to interact with visitors and present paper-cutting demonstrations throughout the run.

As organiser and presenting institution, Art Outreach commissioned and produced Till the Last Blossom, bringing Yeo's meticulous, contemplative practice to a broad public audience at Plaza Singapura — reflecting the organisation's commitment to creating space for slow, meaningful encounters with art in the everyday rhythms of Singapore's urban life.
