Launched during Singapore Art Week 2020 in partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board, Art Encounters by Art Outreach is a mobile artist’s studio and gallery housed within three repurposed shipping containers. It was designed to travel to unique sites around Singapore, featuring a new artist and site-specific work each quarter. The exterior façade of the containers currently features a spray-painted graffiti design by local street collective RSCLS.
To celebrate the project commencing its third year in 2022, we are holding an open call for a redesign of the container façades. The selected proposal will be repainted “live” in a public location in December 2021 as part of the initiative’s mission to unveil the creative process to audiences.
Eligibility
We welcome original proposals from Singapore-based creatives and/or collectives above the age of 18. Experience with live painting, public murals or projects of a similar scale will be advantageous.
