[ProDev Workshop ] Dive into the world of spatial design and learn how to design and transform art spaces to best support compelling and impactful exhibitions. Join us for 'Make Art, Make Space' and elevate your art and curatorial practice to new heights!  

Dr. Zi Hao Wong is an artist and trained architectural designer with his own design and research practice. He will be hosting an insightful session on maximising the potential of art spaces.  

Happening on 13 August 202 from 7.30pm - 9pm, the workshop is designed for artists and curators who want to enhance their understanding of spatial design and management.  

💬 Zi Hao will share his expertise on how spatial design can enable and influence your art-making and curatorial practice. The talk and hands-on workshop will bring us through the transformation of a body of work as it moves through 6 exhibition sites and demonstrate how each space opens possibility to renewing the artwork. 

Participants will get to learn from Zi Hao how to effectively utilise spaces to create compelling and impactful art exhibitions along with practical tips and innovative strategies to design art spaces that not only showcase your work, but also engage and inspire your audience.  

Key Topics: 

1. Spatial Awareness

Understanding the physical dimensions and characteristics of your exhibition space, and how to approach space from an artmaking and curatorial perspective.  

2. Design Principles

Applying architectural and design principles as a language for artmaking, to create harmonious and dynamic art displays. 

3. Creative Layouts

Innovative ways to arrange artworks to enhance the viewer’s experience. Learn to sketch and organise your work utilising spatial concepts.  

4. Managing Space Constraints

Strategies for making the most out of limited or unconventional spaces. Explore how spatial limitations can be a source of inspiration for showcasing the artwork.
