Cut, Ground Opening Reception

You are invited to attend the opening reception of Cut, Ground, a new exhibition by Ang Song Nian.

Through moving image and installation, the exhibition looks at a familiar yet often overlooked urban process in Singapore: the trimming of roadside trees. Focusing on the moment when cut branches and leaves are reduced into mulch, the work isolates what is usually seen as waste or a purely functional by-product, reframing it as a material in transition.

By drawing attention to these cycles of care, control, and renewal, Cut, Ground reflects on how the city is continually shaped through quiet acts of maintenance, where growth and erasure coexist.
