About the event
As part of World Car-Free Day 2025, which celebrates the benefits of reduced carbon emissions and sustainable transport modes, Art Outreach will be presenting a series of guided tours to introduce the public to the Art in Transit (AIT) programme, Singapore’s largest public art showcase.
Under the AIT programme, local artists are commissioned to create original artworks for MRT stations, providing an opportunity for the artists to celebrate the history and community of the surrounding neighbourhoods and introducing everyday commuters to new vistas of artistic expression. As of 2025, the AIT programme spans 112 stations, 116 artists and features more than 462 artworks.
Running exclusively on 9 and 13 September, the tours will cover 7 key stations along the Northeast Line, Downtown Line, Circle Line and Thomson-East Coast Line — Dhoby Ghaut, Clarke Quay, Outram Park, Orchard Boulevard, Stevens, Rochor and Promenade — and the ambitious, site-specific artworks commissioned…
