A Home/A Dwelling
This exhibition posits Singapore as a city of ghosts, where spectres of the past continue to affect the present and the living. What once held is quickly gone; negotiations between changing environments, domestic graveyards and lost landscapes leave a growing tumour of feelings with nowhere to go. These feelings reappear most acutely not in the presence but in the absence of things: the spot of land where the big old tree was, the childhood mall that vanished, the silences of a family that are emotionally bound, still, by these walls.
