IMPART Symposium 2019

In conjunction with the IMPART Collectors Show and Awards 2019, a public symposium will be conducted on 26 January 2019 from 10am -12:30pm at Heliconia Main Ballroom, Level 3, Sands Expo and Convention Centre. Keynote speakers will include prominent international and local art practitioners, as well as prominent local and regional collectors featured in the exhibition. By offering a platform for collectors to share their personal collections, passion and insights, we hope to inspire potential collectors in Singapore and a deeper appreciation of visual arts.

IMPART Panel Discussion:
Branding in Southeast Asian Art: Artists, Collectors, Spaces | 10am – 11am
Moderator: Sara Mao, Director for Christie’s Education in Asia

With an ever expanding market and changing art market, South East Asian Art is one of the fastest growing categories in global exhibitions, galleries and biennales. This panel discussion will investigate the growth of Southeast Asian artists, their influences and influencers, and how commerical and art fair practices have help to create the brand of “southeast Asian art”.

Speakers include:
Catherine David, deputy director of Musée National d’Art Moderne, Centre Georges Pompidou, Johnson Chang, founder of Hanart TZ Gallery, Hong Kong and co-founder of the Asia Art Archive (AAA), Wendy Xu, board director of Powerlong Group and executive administrator of Powerlong Culture, as well as world-renowned artists, Zhong Biao and Jin Meyerson.
