Education Manager

Art Outreach is looking for a dynamic Education Manager to direct our primary school art elective programmes and community outreach activities.

Key Responsibilities 
The Education Manager will successfully and collaboratively:

1.  Manage primary school and community outreach programmes including:

  • Implement and conduct art education activities through classes, tours and workshops.
  • Develop curriculum and programme materials for school and community programmes, that support and advance local school art curriculum, the educational goals of Art Outreach and the needs of individual schools, students and community partners.
  • Provide professional development support as appropriate to teachers’ knowledge and confidence to support the success of teacher participation in Art Outreach activities.
  • Coordinate, train and manage hiring, scheduling, contracting and evaluating of education personnel.
  • Oversee distribution and collection of student, teacher and community partner evaluation forms, photo documentation, and education report.
  • Oversee the design and production of printed materials including curriculum and teacher guides for various programmes, brochures, posters, and prepare information for press releases and other promotional materials.
  • Develop and manage education budget.

2.  Develop and review the long term plan for the Education team with a focus on the:

  • Creation of Art Outreach’s Education goals.
  • Interrelation and advancement of organisation’s mission and strategic plan.
  • Evaluation of programmes on a regular basis for effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability and the ability to replicate results.  Work with teachers and Art Outreach staff to maintain evaluation tools.

3.  Other special projects as identified or assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, arts or closely related field.
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience in arts education.
  • Excellent writing skills, oral communications skills and presentation skills.
  • Organised and flexible.
  • Ability to lead and manage staff.
  • Ability to interact in an effective and professional manner with a wide variety of people, including board, donors, staff, volunteers, and the general public.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook and Excel.

Desirable Requirements

  • Ministry of Education (MoE) registered instructor.
  • NAC-AEP approved instructor.
